Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 3 green onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp minced sweet onions
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 20 wonton wrappers
  • 1 egg beaten (for sealing edges)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for brushing before baking
  • Sweet chili sauce for dipping

Method

Step 1: Prepare the Filling
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, minced onions, sugar, and salt. Stir until smooth and well blended.
  2. Tip: Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature before mixing—it makes the filling easier to spread.
Step 2: Assemble the Wontons
  1. Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
  2. Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center.
  3. Brush the edges with beaten egg, then fold into your preferred shape (triangle or purse style).
  4. Press the edges firmly to seal.
Step 3: Arrange and Brush
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the filled wontons on the sheet and lightly brush each with vegetable oil.
Step 4: Bake
  1. Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 5: Serve
  1. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or even garlic dipping sauce.
