Step 1: Prepare the Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, green onions, minced onions, sugar, and salt. Stir until smooth and well blended.
- Tip: Let the cream cheese soften at room temperature before mixing—it makes the filling easier to spread.
Step 2: Assemble the Wontons
- Place one wonton wrapper on a clean surface.
- Spoon about 1 teaspoon of filling into the center.
- Brush the edges with beaten egg, then fold into your preferred shape (triangle or purse style).
- Press the edges firmly to seal.
Step 3: Arrange and Brush
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the filled wontons on the sheet and lightly brush each with vegetable oil.
Step 4: Bake
- Bake in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
Step 5: Serve
- Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, or even garlic dipping sauce.
